jay
I installed 3, 1 Gb sticks of RAM but now my games won't play. I thought about system restore but I would lose saved games. Any ideas?
Alan2273
Computer specifications, OS, what did you have installed before you put the new RAM in, and a restore will not affect you not being able to play your games.

jimv7
Try 1 stick at a time, your board might not support that amount of ram.Check in the bios, that the ram has been recognized.Crucial has a memory adviser, have you got the correct type of ram...http://www.crucial.com/systemscanner/index.aspx
Alan2273
There is a patch available for your problem from Eidos.ftp://ftp.eidos.co.uk/pub/uk//tomb_raider...C_PATCH_V42.exe

Boris
The KT400 chipset does support DDR333 memory - up to 4GB
jay
The KT400 does support DDR333 memory - up to 4GBThanks, can rule that out as a fault.
Alan2273
KT400 is the make of chipset, not the make of the motherboard. On looking up motherboards with this chipset it seems they are very choosy about memory, with the BIOS not seeing DDR333 properly and refusing to boot or causing memory errors. This is all about the KT400http://www.via.com.tw/en/products/chipsets/k7-series/kt400/
Boris
Have you tried with just 2 rather than 3 sticks ?Is your Radeon 9500 running a DirectX 9.0a compliant driver ?Have you tried the latest ATI Catalyst 9.3 driver for your card ?http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownload/wind...mp;lang=English
ɹəuəllıʍ ʇɐb
Also, what version of DirectX do you have installed? Try to install the latest version (9.26.1590, 2009-03-23).Also, as Boris suggested earlier, try the latest version of your graphics card driver. jay
Driver installed as suggested and graphics now working OK. BUT.........now standby option has gone, and I always used it apart from accasional reboot. I used the sleep button on keyboard, and this put PC into standby. The standby option onscreen is "greyed out"Thanks to all for your help.
topherwits07
Try using only one ram. Maybe your board does not support that amount of ram. Check your boards specifications and see its maximum and minimum ram requirement.
