snipping tool

Recommended Posts

My first posting. Hello all, I am using windows vista ultimate. The snipping tool found in the accessories section of the programs has suddenly gone walkabout for no apparent reason, I cannot find it on the computer in any shape or form. Could somebody please help as I use this "snipping tool" quite often. Thank you. Megiston

Welcome to the Windows Forum.

I don't use Vista, so I have never seen that tool. But if it (was) under Accessories, then it must be a Windows tool. Does Vista have a Add/Remove Windows Components functionality? If so, go there and try to reinstall it.

If not, hopefully one of your Vista-using members can tell you from where to reinstall Windows components.

I just found this resolution in a Google search...

Here’s how you can reveal the Snipping Tool in Windows Vista, if it’s not yet enabled in your system:

Click on Vista Start button, and go to Control Panel.

Click on Programs link.

Click on Turn Windows features on or off link. If User Account Control pops up for confirmation, click on Continue button.

Scroll down the list of features in Windows Features dialog window, tick the check box for Tablet-PC Optional Components to enable and show the Snipping Tool in Vista.

Click OK when done.

Hope it sorts it for you. :D
