Eugen
I have installed Windows XP Professional SP2 and upgraded to SP3.After installing many programs I wanted to tweak the performance of Windows so I cleaned my registry with Regcure v.1.5,cleaned all Temporary internet files and used a anti-spyware called XoftSpy (recomended from Microsoft) who found some spyware and adware on my compiuter. It fixed also the Windows registry. After that sometimes my windows stop responding for a while (3-4 seconds) when I explore and it wipe out the memory so I have to reopen all my folders and programs I was using. Can you help me to fix this trouble. ɹəuəllıʍ ʇɐb
So-called "registry cleaners" do often (much) more damage than good. Avoid them at all cost!If you got a damaged Windows installation as a result of a "registry cleaner", use System Restore to restore to a date before you inflicted the damage. ɹəuəllıʍ ʇɐb
If you have backups from earlier that you took manually, restore them. If you don't, reinstall Windows - a Repair Install may suffice.

Boris
In step 4 of the instructions you were NOT supposed to press R to use the Recovery Console - have you not read the post as detailed below :-?http://forums.windowsforum.org/index.php?s...st&p=291156You should have pressed ENTER (as if you were setting up XP fresh).
