IE icon in internet explorer 7

Recommended Posts

I'm having an anoying session with Internet Exploror 7.

Sometimes (and this is my fault) i'm in such a hurry to click the "back" button at the top of the page that i miss and hit the little IE icon. and quite often, IE then closes, as closing the window is the default option for that button.

is there any way of changing this? I've had a look through XQDC X-setup, but not knowing the name windows uses for this icon means that i don't really know where to start looking.

I have just opened IE7 to see your problem and all I get is a drop down menu with several options the bottom one being close and no way of hitting it by accident.

I rarely ever click on the 'Back' button on Internet Explorer (or Firefox); I always use the 'Back' button on the keyboard.

However, I suggest that you put the menu bar above the Standard Toolbar, as it was on earlier IE versions. See http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vis...ar-back-on-top/

The problem is that it is the default action for that menu, so if you double click it it closes IE without any warnings or "are you sures". very annoying if you're in the middle of some work.

The work around to move the menu bar to the top is probably the best solution. At least now i'll only hit the file button.

Thanks for your help.
