Stop: c0000135 (i deleted a .dll)

My anti virus detected a Trojan, which has happened before.

The program is avast! anti virus...whenever something is detected i "move to chest"

but every time i did that, a new infected .dll would pop up

in a bit of aggression i selected to "delete" that particular.dll (user32.dll)

Well then my computer was going insane so I just shut it off...

When I re started a got a blue screen message that said

"Stop: c0000135

This app has failed to start bcoz user32.dll was nt found. Re-installing the app may fix this problem.."

But I can not do anything past this, can not run in safe more, or restore any configs...

I have a ton of stuff on my HDD i don't want to lose, someone please help me out!

So what is you OS? Do you have a rescue disk, and do you know what your boot up drive sequence option is?

Its XP. I dont think I have the rescue disk....I dont have a floppy drive.

I have the driver and utilities disc..

I have no idea what the boot up sequence is...literally. ha

So you don't have a Windows install disk?

Do you have a hidden Windows install partition? Does the manual tell you how to start the Recovery Console? With this you could also restore your lost file.

If not, do you have a backup?

Does the computer have a floppy drive? If so, you can make a boot disk and boot from there. This way you could restore your lost dll file (search Google for DLL download).

With respect, I think it might be simpler to first try to start in Safe Mode, selecting Start XP rather than Last Known Good Configuration. This will then lead to another screen giving the option of restoring to a previous date, i.e. before you had this problem. That normally restores user32.dll.

If that doesn't work then restore from a system or registry back-up made before the date you deleted or damaged user32.dll, as others have suggested.

From what you write, even if you restore or recover your system, you still have this virus hidden on your system which is why it keeps coming back. It's probably hidden in one or more of the restore points, so after you've got your system running again you need to delete all the restore points & temporarily turn off System Restore. Then temporarily physically disconnect from the internet and run your anti-virus program in Safe Mode to delete all infections. Remember to turn System Restore back on afterwards. Come back to the forum if you need guidance on how to delete all your restore points.

If you want to do a really thorough job of cleaning an infected computer, I recommend you read & print THIS GUIDE FROM AVG. It tells you how to delete all restore point data & also has lots of good advice on preventing future infections.
