USB/iPod problem

Recommended Posts

Everytime I connect my iPod Touch to my Vista PC I get a pop up saying that the device could perform faster if connected to a high speed port.

Trouble is all my ports are USB2 ports. This happens whatever port I plug it into.

I have other USB2 devices including a Video iPod and USB hard drives, yet non of these complain that they are connected to slow ports, even if I plug them into a port the Touch has just complained about.

Not sure how to start tracking down what is causing this.

Any advice would be greatefully received.

The pop-up message appears on the PC not the iPod screen.

That is what I understood. I am working on the principle that the wire that connects the iPod to the machine can transmit electrons, and thus information, both ways. However, I will admit to a possessing an abyss of ignorance where these devices are concerned.
