Yo,

I'm trying to figure out how to host my own domain without having to purchase one and I can't figure it out.

Basically, I want to host my own domain for email and whenever it's finished, a website.

Is there any way I can do this without purchasing a domain from a registrar website and hosting it myself or is this kind of thing impossible to do?

How are you going to do that - steal one? Nobody is going to give you one for free.

Domain names can be registered from about USD 2.00 per year, depending on the TLD. Go to http://www.name.com/, type a domain name (without TLD, e.g. 'hb_kai', then see what's available and to what cost. Some registrars are cheaper than others, and some TLDs (e.g. .cn) are also extrememly cheap. But it all depends what you want.

The 2nd best free suggestion mentioned;

[you don't need a static IP]

- Use a service such as no-ip.info, hosting your IP with a DNS name on there server. Then I suppose you'd just need to setup a web server, eg; Abyss, Apache, IIS etc.

Hopefully my suggestion didn't come too late!
