zzr Posted July 18, 2009 Report Share Posted July 18, 2009 Having downloaded and installed latest Logitech drivers for my Trackman Marble and rebooting , I have now lost the function of both keyboard and mouse in Windows. I am running XP home SP3 and have tried login in safe mode as well as normal and still no keyboard etc. I do get an error window come up, but can't remember message and says it can't find something and is shutting windows down and save and close all programmes.Any suggestions on how to get the use of at least keyboard back? Borrowed a USB mouse which enabled me to uninstall the latest logitech software which has caused the problem. Unfortunatley I'm unable to re-install original drivers as it won't recognise my trackman marble and just installs PS/2 mouse with wheel. I think it's partly down to Logitech not having a PS/2 driver for this trackman in its listings as they just show USB, wireless or serial connections. I have ordered a PS/2-USB converter to get the USB connection and see if that makes any difference. I've had the Logitech for about 6 years or more so it's done well but I didn't want to lash out another £40 unecessary for a replacement, so I'll see how it goes. zzr Posted July 22, 2009 Author Report Share Posted July 22, 2009 Can't you just roll back the drivers to the previous version?Have tried rolling back to previous driver, but the Logitech drivers are such a pain and after uninstalling their setpoint programme the pc can't find a driver specific for my model. Have found an older driver for the trackman but for some reason when changing the operation of the wheel it won't save that operation. zzr Posted July 24, 2009 Author Report Share Posted July 24, 2009 Got my PS/2 USB converter for the Logitech but windows will only load Microsoft HID mouse drivers. Trying to load Logitech drivers again only loads standard mouse and doesn't recognise it's a Trackman. Tried using it as a PS/2 again but still doesn't recognise what model it is. Setpoint doesn't recognise I have a mouse/trackman although if I go to the mouse settings in "My computer" there is a setpoint tab but this just sends me back to setpoint window where all I can do I check for updates.I'm going to persist with different drivers as there is some confusion as to the model. On my Trackman the label it says it's a Trackman Marble+. But looking on the Logitech site they call it a Trackman Wheel, the Marble looks different.
