catgate
Using windows mail whenever I click on a link, any at all, a small window appears saying "application not found"Your description of the problem is rather unclear. My, probably mistaken, understanding of your question leads me to think your email set up in windows is either incorrect or absent, and thus a link to the email programme is missing. AlanHo
Can you use system restore to get back to a date when the programmes were working OK?If not.....Open the Default Programs applet, which you can access either from the Start menu or via the Control Panel, then click the first item: "Set your default programs." After a few seconds, a list of programs comes up. Click on "Internet Explorer". If it doesn't respond with "This program has all its defaults" then fix it by clicking on the option indicated by the first green arrow. If this does not solve the problem try uninstalling IE8 and reinstalling.See here for uninstallSee here for IE8 ddownload
megiston
Alan Ho, Yes, your advice to me was spot on, I used the part about opening the control panel and looking at the default programs.I appreciate your time and knowledge very sincerely. Thank you. John This problem is solved, thanks to all.
AlanHo
I have a confession to make - the proposed solutions did not originate from me - I Bing-ed (similar to Googled)..... :lol:I am pleased it did the trick though
