Pictures everywhere

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I have what should be an easy problem for you people. I use windows vista ultimate, now whenever I store pictures from say, cooliris or any others, what happens is that they all end up on Picasa 3 by google, windows media center, windows live photo gallery and the standard "pictures folder". How do I cease that from happening, I would prefer them to be on the 'Picasa 3" more than any other destination.

Thank you.

It should store them where to tell it to store them. There should be a means of controlling this in the application you use to do the downloading. I known less than nothing about Vista, but I feel sure there should be a "preferences" (or similar) dialogue popup box.

It is quite a while since I meddled with Picasa but I think I remember something about it and its method of working, but then it may have changed with later versions. However, as far as I can remember it did not store the images in it's own directory/folder/carboard box or whatever. It simply stored a link to the image and created little look up files in each directory where it had found images.

I think when I installed it for the first time it appeared to run amok for a while as it scanned my entire HD for images and made a catalogue of thier locations.

It had that "I know best and I will do it my way" attitude, almost as though it were a M$ product. It was removed fairly quickly. I can lose pictures far more efficiently and easier on my own, without its assistance.
