evang Posted August 11, 2009 Report Share Posted August 11, 2009 Hello,I have uploaded some contacts in to a contacts folders and despite the options being set to FIRST LAST I have several contacts which appear as LAST, FIRST. I have tried to export everything to excel and then re-import it but when I do this it still appears the same. I have even tried importing to a new pst where the name standard is set to FIRST LAST. I then tried to see if I could add in to the excel file a FullName column and a FileAs column and this did not work. HELP. I have 2000 contacts and it will take ages to manually change each one. FirstName and LastName come out in different columns and looking through the spreadsheet there is no column named FileAs. It could be something to do with the Global Adress book as I saw this mentioned on a post somewhere but thats why I created a seperate pst to import the excel file into. To show contacts in the address bookIn the navigation pane click contactsRight click the folder you want to view in the address bookClick on the address book tab and tick the box “show this folder as an address book”If this box is greyed outOn the tools menu click Email accountsClick Add a new directory or address book – click next – click addClick additional address books – click nextClick Outlook address book – click nextClick OKRestart Outlook for the changes to be actioned.To select which contact list is shown first in the address panel for an EmailClick Tools – Address Book – Tools – OptionsMake selection.To select last name, first name display or vici versaClick Tools – Account SettingsAddress book tabDouble click “Outlook address book”Show names by : select option.
