ipod makes netgear usb wireless adapter stop working

Recommended Posts

Remember that an iPod draws power from USB, as do most Internet adaptors. Possibly this may contribute to the loss of function.

Are there any other USB ports you could try?

If not, a powered USB hub could be the answer.

I too am having the same issue with my ipod...only difference is that i have a ext hd connected...it has its own power source. Im puzzled as to why this it occuring. I have all of the most recent MS updates for xp pro. Could it be a driver issue, I mean this just started happening about a week or two ago...i've been dealing with it by unplugging the ipod after i get all the music from my computer then reconnecting the netgear wireless adapter and restarting my ext hd as well. Any help would be tremendous!!

I suppose you could check with the iPod website to see if there are any driver updates released for your iPod.

Also, does the user manual give any indication as to why this is happening? It may say not to use other USB devices while the iPod is plugged in - that kind of thing.
