-pops-
Remember that an iPod draws power from USB, as do most Internet adaptors. Possibly this may contribute to the loss of function. Are there any other USB ports you could try?If not, a powered USB hub could be the answer. buggy285
The only things plugged in are my mouse, wireless adapter and my iPod. I tried the powered USB hub but the wireless adapter wont work when the iPod is plugged into any of the USB ports.

Hb_Kai
Could it need a PCI bus driver update?Check device manager and see if there are any yellow exclamation marks or red X's and see if that gives a solution.
catgate
Leave the iPod plugged in long enough for it to charge up before you try to use anything else.Alternatively, Don't use the iPod.
hi_five
I too am having the same issue with my ipod...only difference is that i have a ext hd connected...it has its own power source. Im puzzled as to why this it occuring. I have all of the most recent MS updates for xp pro. Could it be a driver issue, I mean this just started happening about a week or two ago...i've been dealing with it by unplugging the ipod after i get all the music from my computer then reconnecting the netgear wireless adapter and restarting my ext hd as well. Any help would be tremendous!!
Hb_Kai
I suppose you could check with the iPod website to see if there are any driver updates released for your iPod.Also, does the user manual give any indication as to why this is happening? It may say not to use other USB devices while the iPod is plugged in - that kind of thing.
-pops-
Anyone tried the fix I suggested above - use a powered hub?
