Dustin S
OK I'm not sure if this belong here or in the Windows section, but here it goes....I have a HP Deskjet D1500 that I have hooked up to a router through a Netgear wired print server (PS101 I belive). It works on my laptop (Vista Premium) and on my Wifes old XP laptop. She got a new Vista Basic laptop and the printer will not work on it.I could nto get the printer to install for the longest time, but I finnaly got it using a tutorial found on the net. Ive got it installed now, but when I print something it dosent print. In the print manager it says Spooling and under pages it says 3/1 or 6/2 insted of 1/1. I cannot get past this road block and have even considered installing XP over the vista. Please help!!!
ɹəuəllıʍ ʇɐb
When you complete the installation of a (network) printer, it will ask you to print a test page; did you do that? Also, if you right-click | Properties on the printer, do you see some troubleshooting section? andsome
It sounds to me as though you have tried several time to print things and there is a queue of printing jobs waiting. These will need to be cleared. In control panel double click on printers and faxes, then double click on the printer icon. On my computer this brings up the printer properties. If this is so you will see a list of printing jobs waiting, these will need to be deleted. :D

It is impossible to have 3 pages of 1 print. it should be 1 of 3. The test page did not print either, but I know it is installed correctly. Also, I just used the XP machine again today and when I printed it said 3/1 also, but it still prints everytime. Seems like vista basic just sucks.....Please help!! Hb_Kai
Try device manager and look for yellow x's or red exclamation marks on the printer section by clicking on the [+] to the left.If you do see any of these, right click on it and select properties and there may be an explanation of the problem you are having. To run device manager, click Start > Run > type "devmgmt.msc" and press Enter or in Vista; Start > in the search bar at the bottom type devmgmt.msc > click the option at the top of the start menu, click Run/Open or whatever it says on that annoying pop-up box thing. catgate
As another straw to clutch at you could try by-passing the router and just hook the printer up direct. No ...I do not know either ....but you never know if you do not try.
