Dencandy
You have 2 Windows operating systems on the same machine, XP and Vista. Is that correct? If so, it needs specialist knowledge about multi-booting which I don't have.Anyone else, please?

catgate
Like Decandy I am not familiar with dual booting, nor with XP and Vista, but from the many answers from the knowledgable people on WF I have gathered that you should be able to "Restore" from an earlier time whan your machine was running satisfactorily.Do you have a restore point with which you can do this? Hb_Kai
Providing you have the service turned on, Windows should automatically create restore points whenever there are changes to the system like when a new application, driver or something is installed. Hb_Kai
Sorry.Go to...Start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > System Restore.Click on it and you should have a window appear asking to create a restore point or restore to an earlier time.Click "restore my computer to an earlier time", click the day on the calendar you would like to restore to and then click Next and Next again.Your computer should then restart itself. If when you try to open System Restore a small box appears saying your System Restore is turned off and asks you to turn it on, then you won't be able to use System Restore.
