hi,

i was wondering if it is possible to create some kind of wireless network using multiple notebooks/laptops so they can browse eachothers files, play games via that network.

i think this is possible because a laptop can both recieve and send information using its wireless adapter...

if you know anything about this, please let me know!

no, that isnt what im talking about

i would like to create a wireless network between several notebooks, without internet access [since we dont have an internet connection] and without a router or modem...

is that possible?>

I may be wrong, but I thought is was better to have a router to sort out the various connections. I know it is not necessarily to have a router for connecting just two computers by wireless, but I thought a router was the prefered way for multiple computers.

awesome link catgate!

but.... im using windows vista home premium....

i cant seem to find the required options in vista...

do you perhaps know if this is also possible in vista?

My knowledge of vista could easily be written on the back of a postage stamp.

Howeve,r I feel sure that the principle must be the same what ever the OS. I suppose it is just a question of poking about amongst the drop down boxes and things until you find something.

Alternatively just hang on until someone who really knows about these things turns up.

Things have certainly been quiet today. I think they must all be out gathering in provisions for the winter months ahead.

i already found the solution!

the solution is here: http://windowshelp.microsoft.com/Windows/e...9bd5dc1033.mspx

or atleast i think, cause i found a similiar solution when browsing on my notebook this afternoon, but im on my computer now, so i dont have the link

but that actually describes everything you need to know to setup the connection!

now i hope that it is possible with multiple computers [as it says: computer to computer connection]

i hope i can try it out this tuesday :D
