You want to open Media Centre in Notepad?

Doubt it's possible. Notepad is a very basic program which I think would have great difficulty in decoding the complexities of WMC in any way that would be comprehensible to a human user.

Some files have the option of opening in alternative programs. If you right click on the file and see "open with" that should give you a list of alternatives which can open the file (if any) or you can browse for your own choice. Be careful using the browse though. It is sometimes possible to open files in totally unsuitable programs and cause havoc on the machine.

NO! :P

thats like the stupidest thing i ever heard XD [no offense ;)]

what i want to do, is change the default programs in windows.

and as example i said: change the default Media Center App, to Notepad, instead of Windows Media Center [or Acer Arcade Deluxe]

and i wanted to know if there is a program or something that allows you to do that?

I was wondering if it is possible to change a default program to something else.

For example to change the Windows Media Center defaul program thingy to Notepad.

Is it possible to somehow hack this option?

please let me know

It was you that brought that idea forward. I was me querying your notion - I agree, it's almost infinitely stupid.

If you read a bit further into my previous reply you will see I did try to help you. If you still think my reply was stupid, think carefully into the way the was the question was posed. It wasn't only me who thought that was what you meant.

You obviously know what you want to do, but you are not explaining it clearly enough.

What do you mean by default ? - in what context ?

default as in: you press the key to start the Default Media Center Program [which can be lots of programs, like Windows Media Center, Acer Arcade Deluxe, etc.etc.]

and the app that is set to default [which can be WMC, AAD, etc.] is possible to change via the Default Programs configwindow

but now i want to set a non-media center app to be the default Media Center

so it would be like this: i press the button to start the Default Media Center Program/Application, but then my custom app starts, for example notepad

is that clear enough?

note: im using windows vista

you read it in a way i didnt think of :P

but its also pretty hard to explain, as it is pretty vague to me to :S

May be everyone thinks your question meant the same as I thought it did and after your admonishment of me over my reply, thought better about answering themselves.

Perhaps if you explained more clearly what you want to do and not suggest respondents are stupid you may get a reasonable answer.
