Klaxzon Posted October 14, 2009 Report Share Posted October 14, 2009 Greetings. I am a Windows XP-Pro user and an author. I do most of my writing on an Acer Aspire 5100 series Laptop. Recently my Word XP-Pro word processor has been displaying abnormal behavior. I had downloaded several Office Updates via Automatic Updates and am now experiencing an annoying alert telling me my Office Suite is "Invalide." Also, since then, my Spell Check no longer is working. I have re-installed Office several times and still have the same problem. I also have installed Word 2000 Pro and still the Spell Check doesn't work. This is the message I get: (word cannot find grammar file msgr ?? 32.dll for. / spelling file msspell3.dll or msepell232.dll for.) I have run several Virus Scans (AVG Free) and found no bugs. I'm wondering if I need to break down and buy a current copy of Office? Would a Validation issue be causing this Spell Check glitch? I've downloaded Open Office, but it doesn't have the same feel ... I could see a conflict there.The error you quote in your initial post, does it really say 'msgr ?? 32.dll'? If so, there is some corruption. I also do have currently both Word XP and 2000 installed along with Open Office, however, the problem began with only Word XP installed and then it showed up in Word 2000.
