savak
Hi AllAs a result of an earlier problem with a black screen and pointer (NO ONE ANSWERED MY POST about this !) I resinstalled everything, XP SP3 Office 2007 and printers. My problem is I have a network through my ADSL box with a Laserjet 1022. Every time I install, reinstall or print i get 'Spooler SubSystem App had to close'.I have tried turning on 'DEP', no luck, same error.I need this printer working and am fed up to all my teeth with it not printing. What can be done?ThanksGraeme(If anyone replies)

Chris
I've had this as well with a HP printer. A Laserjet 1015 I think, but it was through USB.Got the latest drivers? http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwar...;product=439322I can't remember the registry key I had to delete (I'll check on Monday) but it was fixed by deleting a reg key. savak
The link in the previous post mentioned removing keys in the registry and I've done that at least twice without success, but I await your reply.Graeme
savak
To help clarify the situationWhen I open the printer queue window the printer appears not to 'Connect'When the spooler closes the printer does not appear in the Printers and Faxes window until I restart the spooler, and so the circle repeats endlessly.Graeme

ɹəuəllıʍ ʇɐb
The link in the previous post mentioned removing keys in the registry and I've done that at least twice without success, but I await your reply. That doesn't make any sense; how can you remove the same registry keys "at least twice"? Or have they been re-added after trying to print?

Or have they been re-added after trying to print?I had reinstalled the printer several times with no result, that is why the keys were removed twice.I have since reformatted the harddrive. Reinstalled XP, updated it, loaded AVG 9.When I installed the printer before any programmes it worked fine. After I installed software eg Office 2007, CS2, Nero, FIrefox the printer will not ptint, same old problem.I run exactly the same programmes as I did before. The printer is a HP 1022n connetced through my broadband box. The drivers were installed with the HP Network Printer Wizard, then uninstalled and reinstalled with the CD that came with the printer.I'm at a loss.Graeme

savak
Seems to have been AVG 9 causing the problem, still sorting it out.Graeme

savak
Thanks for the feedback; let us know if all is clear. No progress. I installed AVG 8.5, same problem. Switched AVG off (using msconfig) same problem. Now after reinstalling the drivers again using the supplied HP CD the print spooler shuts down and the printer in the 'pinters & faxes' control panel disappears.I'm wondering if it could be one of the latest MS updates causing the problem.Windows Firewall is off so there shold be no problem there.
