Roach711
I've been snooping around in Win 7 and found that the backup utility will create a system image backup. How does this image stack up against a Ghost image? Does the Windows utility copy installed programs like Ghost? The utility seemed to work afully quickly so I'm skeptical that it's making a full image of the drive. Anyone have experience with this? -pops-
I have been looking at the new Windows backup after using Acronis for many years.I find it much slower than Acronis but it seems to be doing a similar job. I've tried to use it in recovery yet.
-pops-
I've had a slightly better look at W7 Backup since my earlier post - I had started the program about fifteen minutes before my post. It has been going now for two hours and is only on third completed. In addition to that, it is hogging all the resources and making the machine almost impossible to use for anything else. With a very similar computer setup and Acronis a full backup takes about 30 minutes AND the machine is usable while the process takes place.Won't be using it again. -pops-
I deleted the Windows Backup files and then loaded Acronis on the machine I mentioned yesterday (this one). The Acronis full system backup took 21 minutes start to finish. No contest!
