CD/DVD recording

Bearing in mind the different construction of a CD disc and a DVD disc I imagined that one would not be able to record conventional WAV/MP3 files on to DVD disk (edit:-....and play them back), but yet in a conversation today I have been given the impression that this is possible.

Does anyone know the truth of this assertion, please?

I suppose I could try it, but being from Yorkshire....and muck and brass....and all that.

Hi,

It may also happen that your wire from the CD/DVD is not plugged well. Please re-check it.

Thanks,

James

Can you tell me why I should check my wire from theCD/DVD player, or for that matter re-check it?

The question I asked was a hypothetical question about a practical capability, rather than one about a particular malfunction.

Depends how you burn the media files to the DVD disc and the type of CD/DVD writer you're using.

If you burn them to a disc like a normal music CD, some DVD writers will read and play the music but if you burn them to the DVD disc using it as a data storage device, then only DVD writers will read them but not all.
