Hb_Kai
Okay. Try these steps.Step 11. Close all open browser windows.2. Start Internet Explorer.3. Browse to a site that you know is real, such as http://www.microsoft.com (http://www.microsoft.com) .4. Click links on the site to make sure that you are connected to the Internet.5. If you are connected to the Internet, try to install the updates again.Step 21. Start Notepad. And then copy and then paste the following commands into Notepad.net stop bitsnet stop wuauservIpconfig /flushdnscd "Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Microsoft\Network\Downloader"del qmgr0.datdel qmgr1.datnet start bitsnet start wuauservSave the file to your desktop as clear.bat. To do this, follow these steps: In Notepad, click File, click Save As, and then type clear.bat. Click the Save as type list, select All Files (*.*), and then click Save.2. On the desktop, right-click the clear.bat file, and then click Run as administrator3. Try to install the updates again. If it still doesn't work, run devmgmt.msc and check your network adapter for any problems. Problems are indicated by yellow exclamation marks (!) or red question marks (?).If one of these exist, right-click > properties > there should be some diagnostics information somewhere around there. frustrateduser
Network adapter is fine. Yes, everything else works fine. Just can't update or install.Another user on another forum suggested this:Could you do me a favor and type event viewer in search. When there go to windows logs>application tab. Look for errors (red "X" in left column) that reference either app hang, app crash, or similar. there will be a bunch. When you fin the one that is most frequent/relevant note the Event ID and source codes. If app doesnt give you anything you can also try the system tab.You can also run a system file check to verify and repair your system files to run ittype cmd in search>right click and run as admin> SFC /SCANNOWMy findings:Event ViewerMost common:Source:Application ErrorID:1000Source: Application HangID: 1002There was also one of these, but it looked like it sounded important:Source: ApplicationExperienceInfrastructureID: 2For the ScanWindows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violations.Any other thoughts? This one is a mystery to everyone I ask...
ɹəuəllıʍ ʇɐb
The Event Viewer shows you events with an exact timestamp. Check the events that happened when you actually experience the error. Check all tabs!
frustrateduser
I am not sure when it happened. It's been unable to install for a few weeks.
