Excel to Open Office

Recommended Posts

Am trying out OpenOffice and so far so good. Have now tried importing some Excel files into the OO spread sheet app. the entered data is copying over OK but derived calculations seem to go amiss. For example I have a spreadsheet where I enter my gas and electric readings. the following columns are derivations such as increments between readings, averages etc. These columns have errors in them. If I make a fresh sheet and type the original data in followed by the formulae the results show up fine. Is it likely that some corruption is occuring when OO reads the Excel files? Hepl and suggestions very wlecome. I'm not looking forward to re-creating the Excel sheets.

You could adopt the suggestion by pops to get Office 2007 from software4students via one of your student relatives.

Why not down load Office 2010 Beta free as discussed in another recent forum thread - obtainable from Here

It is the ultimate solution and will save you much fiddling about - at your age time is more precious than money.........................
