I tried running the OS in safe mode and try to fix the problem, but it still prompt up. AlanHo Posted December 26, 2009 Report Share Posted December 26, 2009 Have you treid earching Google for "lasass.exe - System Error The endpoint format is invalid".You will find numerous returns for the error - but for Lsass or isass - not lasass.I cannot offer a solution - but from my brief trawl at appears that the solution lies in installing the corrupted hard drive into another computer which has adequate malware protection - copying across the data you want to save and then reformatting the affected disc ready to put it back in the original computer to reinstall Windows. Seshomaru Samma Posted December 26, 2009 Report Share Posted December 26, 2009 What you need is KnoppixIt will allow you to boot from a CD rather than your hard disc. Once booted into the Knoppix environment you can save your files to an external drive, another partition or whatever. Hereis a HOWTO.You will need a functioning CD-rom to do it (or boot from a USB if your computer allows it)Basically you can do it with any live Linux CD (like Ubuntu) , but I choose Knoppix for you because it has the best hardware detection and the most online tutorials. It's always good to keep a Knoppix CD around, it can help assessing hardware problems and network problems as well. And I said all info and tutorials can be easily found through Google.
