Installing Lexmark printer in WIN7

I am trying to install my Lexmark z2300 printer on my WIN7 64 PC.

It gets to the stage of "Plugin the USB cable" and then stops.

I have downloaded the latest 64 bit drivers for this printer.

Have done a myriad of things to get this fixed, however, no success to date.

The printer works fine on the XP 32 bit PC.

This 64 bit driver - is it for Windows 7?

I assume that you installed it before connecting the printer?

I wonder what the difference is between lcZ2300Win7en64.exe and cjZ2300Win7en64.exe ?

Ensure that the computer's USB port is functioning.

I remember spending a lot of time on a similar problem only to find out the following day after plugging the printer into a different port that the first one was kaput.

It may well not be this but, I would look at that first.

this is the core driver 65Megs

and cjZ2300Win7en64.exe ?

this is the full driver 126 Megs

I downloaded the 64 bit driver for Vista and it worked.
