shokan Posted March 6, 2010 Report Share Posted March 6, 2010 I've tried restoring XP Pro sp3 many times over the pastr year but it always says something like 'restore unsuccessful' after Windows restart. Also, I cannot choose a date any earlier than the current month when starting to restore. Arrowing back from the current month doesn't do anything. I have disabled the external HD for SR (BTW, I can now arrow back to Feb in the SR dialog, but no further). I will try SR again sometime. Sooner or later your internal hard drive will fail or become corrupted - it is inevitable. Note also that the Microsoft System Restore facility does not protect your data - only the system files. One thing I've always wanted to know: is there the option to copy the entire HD so that what I end up with is an external HD exact formatted duplicate, with XP working and all my data present?
