artist Posted April 30, 2010 Report Share Posted April 30, 2010 Last week, when last used, it was fine. Just back from a few days away and it won't boot up. It's got XP and not an awful lot more apart from a version of Paint Shop Pro.(and a dongle - which I took out just to see..))I get the page with the options to start in safe mode etc or 'last known good' - I've tried all the options. It looks as if it will be starting but then goes back to the options again.The battery is ok but I always have it on the mains anyway.I did nothing, honestly! Any thoughts before I call in a man? It's about 7 years old and I knew even less back then...I have got an XP disc for the other computer - will that work? I'll be stumped if it asks for a key though, won't I? artist Posted May 1, 2010 Author Report Share Posted May 1, 2010 BorisI tried the XP disc from the other pc - After the files had been loaded (as per info on link) It said it was checking for other versions - then it said it couldn't read the (XP) disc.I have noticed that the XP disc says ' upgrade' on it.
