doug
Why do you need to hibernate? Doesn't it load fast enough?
-pops-
Do you have an auto start program such as Mailwasher that looks at new email deliveries or even just a connected broadband system? Anything that Windows might think is a wake-up will override Hibernate.Would Sleep mode be better for what you want to do?
markhelenski
The command prompt or the DOS window is used to activate hibernate. For this purpose, a user has to be logged-in as the administrator.Activate the run from the start menu by clicking run or by simply pressing the Windows logo key + r. In the window pop-up screen type, powercfg /hibernate on.Once done type exit and press enter key. Hibernate option automatically appears as a part of start menu items. In a case where you cannot see the option, open run dialogue box and type Power Options. The window below should pop-up. Click the link labeled “Change when the computer sleeps” and then open the link “Change advanced power settings”. In the Advanced sleep options, expand the Sleep tree and turn off Hybrid Sleep. Now go back to Start menu to see the new Hibernate entry.
andsome
Maybe I am missing something, but why bother to hibernate or sleep? The modern computer can fully boot up in well under 1.5 minutes, so what is the hurry? Is this another case of saving nano seconds?Just asking.:)
