frankie
i picked up an asus desktop a few months ago and it is now unable to boot. when it is turned on, the monitor does not awaken from sleep mode and the keyboard and mouse lights do not come on. unsure what might be causing this issue....it has been running fine before this. there were no other simptoms that i notices (i.e. virus / trojan activity, inablilty to locate system files, etc...)any help appreciatedthanks, frank

Alan2273
The fact that you have no signal to the monitor or lights on your keyboard or mouse, point to a hardware fault, either your motherboard or power supply unit.

catgate
I picked up an asus desktop a few months agosuggests that the set up is not exactly brand new.I suggest that you take off the left hand side case cover and see how full the case is of fluff and cobwebs. It could be that it has had a total burn out of the power pack due to inadequate cooling.
bludgard
Is it stil under warranty? If it is,take it back.If it's faulty hardware they may repair/replace as needed. If it is a software issue, that may be another case entirely.Usually you would have at least a year under warranty.Unless of coarse it wasn't obtained new....Cheers
