Easy Transfer Wizard

Recommended Posts

Went to Akihabara with a friend yesterday, where we bought a new Toshiba laptop (for something just over ¥30,000 = £230 = €260 = $365). Very nice little machine, Windows 7, 64bit, with everything she needs.

Of course she wants her mail and address book copied from her old XP machine's Outlook Express. I've heard how easy it is to transfer these things using the Easy Transfer Wizard, so I installed it on her old machine. Ran it, but I did not really see any options what to transfer.

At the end it transferred tons of music files, but no email data. I went through it a second time, but did not see any options to include email data.

Anybody knows how to transfer email data (settings, messages, address book) using the Easy Transfer Wizard?

Thanks for the replies. I ended up just doing an Import of the original .dbx files (email), and an exported .csv files (contacts).

The account had to be set up manually, and it took me quite a long time (0x800CCC90) to get it working. I really don't understand why that Easy Transfer Wizard is not just doing what it is supposed to be doing...?
