Liner
Hello guys, i'm new to this forum and i have a big problem.I'd be so thankfull if you guys can give me a hand. This morning when i booted my pc, alot of files and programs were missing. For example Photoshop, (one of the many programs} all of the .psd files were missing as wel. When i go to the directory all the folders are still intact, the files are gone.I did not delete anything and photoshop is just one of the programs that's missing.I noticed something odd though.Check out the picturesIn the first picture you can see the properties of my D:\ drive. In the picture one i selected all the files in the D:\ drive (including hidden ones) and selected "properties"The first picture shows that aprox. 200 gig is used. The second picture shows that aprox. 194 gig is used.Could my missing files be hidden in some way? because it's odd there's 6 gig leftAny help would be greatly appreciated.Liner. Dencandy
There can be a variety of hardware & software reasons for this. There may be hard disk or RAM problems, or a corrupt operating system or applications.First of all, if you haven't aleady done it, use you computer search function to simply search for some of the missing programs (one at a time, of course). Then use search to find all pictures on your entire hard disk and see if any of your missing .psd files are found. If these actions lead nowhere, try a file recovery program like Recuva (free): HEREYou should also do a deep malware scan with you AV program and MalwareBytes. andsome
Have you tried a system restore? Or much better still do you have a mirror image of the system in ACRONIS or similar?
