Winging
I'm getting messages stating that a Java Automatic Update is requesting permission to update. I get a lot of these. Why are there so many and should I allow the update?
Boris
To run programs written in Java, you need a Java "runtime environment." If your computer is nagging you to "update Java," then your computer already has a Java runtime environment — and it is now out of date. Java Updates are usually intended to fix security problems, which makes your computer safer. When you refuse to update Java you may be taking a risk by refusing to fix security problems. So I recommend that ........ Yes - you allow the update.A buggy old version of Java might be exploited by maliciously coded web pages
andsome
Run this, and keep it in your favourites for future use.http://www.java.com/en/download/installed.jsp
ɹəuəllıʍ ʇɐb
If you have an older version than JRE 6u10, then it must be manually uninstalled. Newer versions will be updated without the need to uninstall.See also this post.
