If Windows will not boot it doesn't seem to be of much importance which service pack is installedI'm getting an error "SystemRoot\System32\Config\SOFTWARE" and the system tries to boot in a continuous loop. I was going to replace the corrupted files through recovery console using an install disk. But I have been advisedwhen doing this that it will be necessary to have the right version\service packof XP or one can run into problems doing the repair. Problem is I don't knowwhich service pack is actually installed on the system. So I need to findout which SP is installed so that I can proceeded with repairing the damagedfiles. I know how to obtain this info through the windows desktop, but sincethe system doesn't completely boot that method is obviously out of the question.
