windows.old won't go away

I had to reformat my computer a while back, and when it was done all of my old files were stored away in "C:\Windows.old". The problem is, I can't seem to delete the blasted thing. There are no files in it, but the only folders are the ones listed in this path: "C:\Windows.old\Users\Arthur\AppData\Roaming\SecuROM\UserData". There are no files in that folder either.

When I try to delete any of them, I get an error telling me the following:

"Could not find this item

This is no longer located in [[insert folder name here]]. Verify this item's location and try again."

I've tried refreshing, restarting my computer, starting in safe mode, and nothing works. Is there a known solution?

For windows 7 and this is example;

1. click on windows orb

2. type cmd in search box

3. right click on cmd in results menu and click run as administrator

4. command windows will open, should be in c:\windows\system32 directory

5. go to c:\ do this type cd.. until you reach c:\

6. go to directory where the folder you want to delete is located. example c:\windows.old\users

7. type rd /s (Name of Directory)

8. will get prompt to remove y/n type y and hit enter

You can do this much quicker by simply typing

cd \

[MANEMAN]

you're making more of this than you should.

windows has certain space requirements for the kernel/swap file as well as the virtual ram file and even for de-fragment. if you turn all of this off, and it involves editing the registry which is risky, you may get more shrinkage out of it.

No, forum spam is not about clicking on links - it's about Google seeing the links, and giving them a higher rank if they are encountered often enough.

What these suckers don't know is that Google is well capable of ignoring spam links, but they keep on spamming, if only to annoy forum users and moderators!
