After creating to partition I was going to merge these to but after restart I lost my C: bcause I got the message: "No bootable device found-". Press the function key that corresponds with your BIOS immediately. This is generally a function key ("F1," "F2," or "F10," for example). A screen prompt will tell you which key you press. If you are unsure, consult your user manual.2) Find "D2D recovery" under the "Main" section of the BIOS. Ensure that D2D recovery reads "Enabled."3) Choose to "Save and Exit" the BIOS.4) Press the appropriate combination, such as "Alt + F10," when you see the Acer logo to enter the "System recovery" partition. Consult your user manual if you are unsure of how to initiate the System recovery.5) Follow the on-screen instructions to return your Acer laptop to factory condition. bludgard Posted December 16, 2010 Report Share Posted December 16, 2010 You are welcome.If this episode created any anxiety for you,I would suggest that you create backups of your disk in the form of System Image.If you get in a bind,these backups will get you sorted without the fuss.I have been using the native Windows 7 backup program and as yet haven't had the first problem with it.When I create a backup,I not only image Windows C:,but also 7 other partitions residing on my internal HDD.After the initial full image,you can choose incremental backups that only back up what has changed since your full back up.It works great for me.As a matter of fact,I just got an update for Games For Windows Live,caused a couple of my games to crash on startup.Reimaged my HDD and hid the dread update.Everything is running perfectly again.Took all of 20 minutes.;) Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
bludgard Posted December 16, 2010 Report Share Posted December 16, 2010 As a matter of fact,I just got an update for Games For Windows Live,caused a couple of my games to crash on startup.Reimaged my HDD and hid the dread update.Everything is running perfectly again.Yeah.Well this isn't exactly true.I can play the game but I can't sign in to Games For Windows Live to save my progress unless I install the XLive update.If I install the udate,I am forced to run the game in compatability mode for XP SP3.It runs slow and jumpy as he**.I know my hardware is a little shy of being optimal for gaming,but everything was doing fine before this came along.I'll try to contact somebody about this. ...............whateverMeanwhile,I'm workin' on somethig to get around it all-I hope it pans out.I paid for the game.It was and is not purchased from Microsoft.I see no reason for me to have to depend exsclusively on Microsoft to be able to play my game the way I intended/expected when I purchased it from CAPCOM.Any ideas... Never used, its performance how what?I have a year old Acer 5517-5427 and it runs several operating system perfectly well.Including Windows 7 X64,Ubuntu/Linux X86(runs ok with X64 but flash and Java are problematic),and Solaris X86(experimental).Only ones I've tried so far.No complaints.Though I could use some upgraded hardware....;) Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Flash drive with enough space for Windows 7You can install from several CD's if you start splitting files up.
