I have connected - here arn't I but...

For the last week I have had problems with Webshots and my firewall Online Armour with a Webshots launcher Webshots starts and the firewall dislikes. So I disabled it in Winpatrol but it tried to go back on start up list and now win patrol is keeping it disabled. All the while this fight was going on I had problems loading slow but got there but lost all the internet connections info. Start - first time Connections was there but D link file just showed empty and the connections window completely bereft of anything. Usually shows my D Link and this sharing link which is disabled.

Last 3 days booting up connecting but again lost the connections on start or its own window and also on the task bar. Fiddled with help and got windows help and did the windows does not see my modem and then device manager - but mine hasn't got ports on it as said my port may not be open. So went though every single one and clicked on properties and somehow every time - mysteriously back came the whole connections everywhere and on the task bar.Still slow loading.

today went through same routine but cant get it back. Also have run every malware and anti virus every day to see what is causing the problem. Now I have a bad registry key on auto downloads and that is disabled. Manually download. Always every time something is changed and I have to change it back but Have not so far this month downloaded so not that. Slow loading again today. Today for the first time also got a different help this time it is Dell never seen it before and had this one since 2007. Found way back to windows help and although have done the same old going through every single item on the devices and clicking on properties all working but quite a few have no drivers so defunct I suppose but this time it said to look for modem - not one in my devices either like Ports.

Running XP Home Service Pack 3 version 5.1.2.600 -On services WZCSVC is disabled on services is this something to do with Internet Connections remember I am connected just can't find any info on it in usual places.

Cant disconnect without shutting down.

No on ADSL D Link it connects via the phone line, I think!

Actually AFAIK no wireless in Tasmania or wasnt earlier this year.

Same modem I had for dial up and then changed over to Broadband with same ISP so used the modem for 8 years. Working fine as connected.

Since I had this computer have had mysterious changes to windows system - usually every time I download updates. Like it changes the alert to say not auto and I have to change it back but I dont thin this is M$ - something else. I don't go to dodgy sites so never got problems with virus's yet!

If you connect your PC to your router by ethernet cable you do not need WZCSVC running.

It is only used if you connect your PC wirelessly (no ethernet cable) to your router.

Still have not got anything on start re connections

Nor icon on task bar

suspect the little windows that are called up by programs to connect missing also.

Any ideas on these anyone? I am on the internet but worries me that these disappeared and now cant gt them back
