ehRec.exe service in Windowx XP Media

I have about 25 instances of ehRec.exe (approx 11.5mb) shown in task manger . I tried looking this up but couldn't find anything. Any help is appreciated.

I've found ehRec.exe topics but none that fit my problem. There is not much info at Toms Hardware link except for a few links--the microsoft link was dead last time I checked.

The other link covers repair/reinstall of XP--not doing that.

Right now I'm sitting on 400+megs of RAM in use with no apps running. Most of it is absorbed by ehRec.exe.

I have also run Norton Power Eraser which didn't turn up anything but false positive--none relating to ehRec.exe.

I disabled the Windows Media Center services (three of them) and the bloat went away. Glad I wasn't depending on this as a home media server. Seems buggy.

ehrec.exe is a process belonging to the Microsoft Media Center and is described as the recording process which integrates with your Windows tuner.
