Wireless connection issue

I can connect the wireless to the router by entering WEP but for some reason the internet connection is not working. Vista operating system with an HP all in one machine. I can connect other machines to the same wireless router and operate normally. Any ideas?

Have you tried right clicking Network icon in system tray and choosing Troubleshoot problems?

Good place to start,since it is unknown what you have tried thus far.

could be a dodgy filter, swap your filters over.

even try resetting your router.

make sure you have the most upto date driver for your wireless card by going to manufacturer website.

Hi Tunedude.

From the information you have given I would say the fault almost certainly lies within the Vista Operating System.

As much as I hate the sort of software that says it can fix just about everything on your computer. There is such a piece of "FREE" software that may just sort you out.

I wouldn't be recommending this if it were not 100% safe and known to fix problems that can sometimes take ages of hunting down and altering various settings.

has in the past saved me some time when trying to fix connectivity problems.
