tunedude1959
I can connect the wireless to the router by entering WEP but for some reason the internet connection is not working. Vista operating system with an HP all in one machine. I can connect other machines to the same wireless router and operate normally. Any ideas? Makcalable
could be a dodgy filter, swap your filters over.even try resetting your router.Edit;make sure you have the most upto date driver for your wireless card by going to manufacturer website. MANEMAN
Hi Tunedude. From the information you have given I would say the fault almost certainly lies within the Vista Operating System. As much as I hate the sort of software that says it can fix just about everything on your computer. There is such a piece of "FREE" software that may just sort you out. Try: Complete Internet Repair 0.9.3.935I wouldn't be recommending this if it were not 100% safe and known to fix problems that can sometimes take ages of hunting down and altering various settings. The main website: http://www.rizone3.com/ also has some other useful software ( Stand-alone "Winsock Repair")has in the past saved me some time when trying to fix connectivity problems.Let us know how you get on.John. EDIT: This is small enough to fit on a flash drive, and should be part of every computer repair persons toolkit. - a real time saver !
