Caboose
Hello, I just joined the site today. I thought maybe you guys might be able to help me...I need to use a Website crawler, WinHTTrack, PageNest, Etc.. to copy certain social media pages like facebook. To get to the point I was wondering if anyone here had any experience with this type of program.Thank you
MANEMAN
Hi there and welcome.Complete website capture seems a little bit over the top for what you claim you are wishing to do. to copy certain social media pages To capture individual pages you could perhaps use something like ScreenHunter 5 FreeOr you can easily turn webpages into PDF's with things like PDFMYURL or WEB2PDFCONVERTWhen using website capture software you can be in for a very long haul journey especially if you do not set filters up before you begin.Do not download too large websites: use filters. For large mirrors, first ask the webmaster of the site. Are you slowing down the traffic? Do not grab private information. If you are quite sure that you are complying with the above criteria, - carry on, - have fun. That's how we all learn about things.I'm pretty sure that if you sit and think about exactly what you are trying to achieve you may come up with an idea for software that is less time absorbent and will fill up your 'puter with fewer files. ;)I need to use a Website crawlerWhy ?????? - Very few people do. :) Hope this has been of some help to you.John.
