MANEMAN Posted February 3, 2011 Report Share Posted February 3, 2011 Hi Bobbi Printer Problems can be due to many different things.One of the most common is corrupt printer drivers, so it would be a good idea to uninstall the current drivers, and re-install new drivers. (Perhaps with the disc you got with the printer)Another problem is with the spooler service and cache.This can be a bit difficult if you do it manually, but luckily there is a piece of free software that automates things for you. It's called "Stalled Printer Repair" you can download that **HERE** Microsoft are very helpful also, because they too have provided an automated repair for printer problems.Go to their site: **HERE** and download the file: Mats_Run.printing.exe Click on "Run", follow the on-screen instructions, and it will automatically try to fix any printer problems that you may have. (This could take five minutes or more.)Check that your connecting USB cable is ok, and that you get the customary "Ding Dong" when you plug the printer USB cable in.Three seperate fixes there for you Bobbi. MANEMAN Posted February 3, 2011 Report Share Posted February 3, 2011 Yeah. You saying that andsome, I've got an old Epson Stylus Color 670 which a mate gave me when he got a new fangled all-in-one. That has been running for years with no problems. I can get the ink cartridges for £1.85 (Both colour and black) and it turns out really good prints.When he moved from Cornwall to Worcestershire he said "Do you want my old printer" ? Boy ! Did I ? !!!!!I had a Lexmark previously and it cost me an arm and leg to keep it in cartridges.It's still cheaper to run the SD card down to Tesco if you want a serious amount of prints though. :) John. :) Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I've tried that fix it thing and that didnt work. I also tried using the original software and that didn't work. I don't have any stalled prints. What happened was my printer stopped working, so I uninstalled it and when I tried to reinstall, I got the printer spooler isnt working error in my original software. I've tried everything including making a new registry entry for the spooler. I'm at a loss here.And now back to Bobbi !Did ya try those things ? - Did they work ?
