I Think that unfortunately this problem is probably going to have to be worn like a "Hair Shirt" by some Windows users.

As Boris stated earlier "This problem (which did not exist in XP) first arose in Vista and was then carried over into Win 7.

AFAIK Microsoft have not provided a solution."

The best solution at the moment seems to be with 3rd party applications like: ** Window Manager **

And the Shell folder fixes mentioned.

Even then the reported results seem to vary widely from machine-to-machine. :(

What some see as a problem, - others will trudge along with, blissfully unaware that things could be done another way.

If you do find a fix that suits your particular setup, please let us know.

It may just be the fix that suits someone else's computer.

Well, thank you everybody for at least trying :D , I really do appreciate it ;) .

... windows is constantly updating it's self (which actually seems to cause more problems than it solves), but maybe I can send a message directly to Microsoft (you'd be surprised how well that will work sometimes). Perhaps a fix may be included in a future update... or maybe we'll all *facepalm* at microsoft's epic failure to solve the issue :P .
