Boss Jr. Posted February 28, 2011 Report Share Posted February 28, 2011 Ok, well, this is a rather generic question and I'm sure it's simple to answer and probably has been answered like 100 times before, so sorry in advance for being such a n00b, lol XD .In any case... I like my folders displayed in a very specific way and windows keeps changing them back all the time, so all I need to know is if there is a way to set every single folder to display as per my preferences and how exactly I would go about doing that because changing the folders to display the way I want every time I create a new one and resetting them every time Windows decides to change them back is getting really, really annoying. AFAIK Microsoft have not provided a solution.The solution I previously suggested above (ShellFolderFix) worked successfully for a couple of my friends who also had this problem. (this gesture is more expressive than lol while lol is generally more literal)lol - TXT speak abbreviation for the words "Laugh out loud".For future reference Urban Dictionary is your friend XP .Edit: *epic facepalm* I had highly anticipated a solution to my problem... but alas this is not the case.Upon downloading ShellFolderFix I quickly came to find that the program does not have any features that allow you to set the display preferences of my folders and seems only to remember the size ration in relation to how I'd like the folders to be displayed...Edit2: Screen Shots coming soon! Boss Jr. Posted March 2, 2011 Author Report Share Posted March 2, 2011 Open the spoiler tags...Notice in the below image, in the forward most window the size of the icons, they're large so that I can quickly browse through my graphics files.Now notice the box that I've drawn around the folders and that they are organized away from the GFX files... that's because I've organized them by type... programs/files of the same type are automatically listed alphabetically. This makes it easier to quickly click through sub-folders.Now take a look at this folder pic which shows the folders displayed with the default settings... I would like to change the default settings so that all folders were displayed in the above two examples.<_< AS it is now I have to go into every single folder... Right Click > View > Large IconsThen...Right Click > Sort by > TypeIn every single folder... every time I create a folder and for every folder that suddenly decides to change it's self back to the default settings... which happens often.
