Somehow before doing this I managed to delete that little icon in the taskbar that allows me to close all open windows so that my desktop appears. After upgrading it seems to still be gone. I assume Windows 7 copied my settings that included that (mistaken) change. I've looked all over and searched the forums here but can't find any hints as to a solution. Instead there is a small rectangular button in the bottom right of your screen (to the extreme right of the notification area where the time/date is displayed) that does the job. bludgard Posted March 3, 2011 Report Share Posted March 3, 2011 I think I have seen the way to removereplace this AERO Peek icon in some obscure configuration window on Windows 7.I will get on the machine in a while and try to hunt it down.You can also press the Windows key and D key to use this feature. I was a bit worried something weird was going on with the OS. What was happening was the mouse was passing over that little rectangle you mention by accident. I didn't even have to click it. I have no need then to have some additional icon. That one works fine - even on the hover.Thanks all for your responses. I'm very pleased with Windows 7. Should have upgraded months ago.
