-pops-
It seems you are installing on a drive which has old files from other operating systems on it.Try removing the drive, install on another computer and carry out a full reformat of the drive. This will remove any old rubbish that may be remaining. You should then be able to install XP.Remember that XP is SP3 now, not SP2.

-pops-
Using gparted partition tool is not the same as a full reformat of a hard drive.I remember XP being particularly finicky about which other O/S it shared a hard drive with which is why a suggested a full format, perhaps even a low level format, to get things in order again. bludgard
If there was an attempt to install Windows to a clean drive (as -pops- has suggested) and all known hardware is acceptable, I would maybe look at the image. The last pic provided by janu appears to suggest a trashy drive or a corrupt .ISO to me.This is of course all conjecture. All assuming that hardware has been tested. Try wiping the drive with another tool such as are contained in something like UltimateBootCD. The Active@ Kill Disk (free version) program on this particular compilation has never let me down. There are Low Level formatting tools on the UBCD as well. Along with utilities to test hardware.I would run a checsum on the .ISO and go from there. If you low level format, try to get the hard drive specific tool to do it with. Usually found on the drives website.

janu
hi ɹəuəllıʍ ʇɐbwindows has not been installed successfullyi think you might have seen step 2)in above post#8,see the final img in step3)in post#8-problem is here hi bludgardi tested .iso file using md5sum,and i used that cds(sp2-sp3) install windows successfullybut in my case[old system] not installing windows succssfully
bludgard
That, to me, looks like Windows is successfully installed.I have seen sucessful installs with this screen. However, in my limited experience, this indicates that another or part of another install is still on the disc.. Or a Repaired install. If I wipe a drive prior to an install there is no choice of operating systems. It boots straight to Windows desktop. If I am mistaken or un/underinformed, please do not hesitate to educate this old fool. I suggested via PM that janu try a different .ISO (with a link to untouched images). If this does not have satisfactory results, then at least that part of it is ruled out.
