Linux Mint 11 Katya

Recommended Posts

Just installed the 32bit version on an old rig that I use for testing components : Athlon 2400+, 1GB PC2700, 128MB Geforce4 AGP graphics.

The whole process over in 20 minutes - everything detected on first reboot and to date everything working fine.

Using it now to post this,

You're right - Fedora is quite different to Mint :0

Some stunning wallpapers included as standard though :)

Would post some - but I don't know how to resize .pngs with Fedora

Quite like the Activities - Windows/Applications toggle - nice big icons.

Yes they certainly are big and on a 23" monitor they are huge.

But on the laptop they are just about right.

I am just about to see if this distro will pick up the Broadcom wifi drivers as only PCLOS has managed that to date, on Mint I had to use the CL to get it working, which is a pain.
