pawz7
Hi O brainy ones, is there a way I can 'rollback' from IE9 please?
-pops-
Try http://www.mostiwant.com/blog/how-to-uninstall-internet-explorer-9-and-go-back-to-ie8-ie7/Click Start => Control Panel => Programs => View installed updates => Wait for the list to load and go down to find Windows Internet Explore 9 click on it then click Uninstall => Click Ok to Allow.Once down restart the computer. As with all things of this nature, ensure you have a backup of your system or, at the very least, a System Restore point.

Digerati
I would ask, why? While I understand some folks prefer the look and feel to earlier versions, IE9 is the latest and most secure IE yet. Therefore, if your OS supports IE9 (that is, if you have Vista or Win7) you should be at IE9, even if you use an alternative browser as default. pawz7
Digerati, I am a Sims3 player, and so, when I start the game it links me, through IE9, to the games page where I can download mods, access the forum etc. The page does not display properly, though it is usable, just annoying, but if I want to go to an external site to download something, it is either very slow or does not work at all, and IE constantly complains there is a problem and wants to restart. If I use Firefox to go to the external site, or the games page, manually, by opening the browser and putting the URL in myself, there is no problem. I have tried making FF the default, but the game insists on using IE, so I would rather return to IE8, which worked without these problems. Firefox or Cometbird, (which runs on the same engine as FF) are my browsers of choice and so I seldom use IE for anything besides accessing Microsoft sites. Two other people who use their computers for business have commented to me, saying that IE9 does not function properly for their needs, which is why I put it on my system - to see how it behaved. I also wanted to know how to uninstall IE9 as they are sure to ask me if they still find they cannot work with it next time we meet up. I am still learning about W7 :)
Digerati
I am still learning about W7I hear you. I never migrated to Vista so Win7 was a big change from XP. But it is clearly the best Windows yet. If Sims does not work with IE9, then the Sims developers need to get with the program. IE9 is here to stay, at least until IE10 arrives. That said, you should not have the crashing problems you mentioned, so that indicates a problem with your system - since 100s of millions of IE9 users are working fine. Most problems with IE can attributed to malware, or a conflict with an add-on.
pawz7
Browser add-ons could be a likely source, I agree, though I have not put anything on there. However, I am not bothered enough with it to go troubleshooting for my own needs, hence my post.
