Boris
If you have a full Wimdows 7 DVD to boot from, you could try doing a Startup Repair ?See this :-/>http://pcsupport.about.com/od/toolsofthetrade/ss/windows-7-startup-repair.htm
-pops-
From my, admittedly limited, experience of VAIO machines, I understand that they are supplied with comprehensive recovery disks from which you should be able to restore your system.Failing that, Sony Centres can do wonders. bludgard
Can you enter BIOS by pressing F2 key at boot? On some computers it might be the DEL key, or F1.
bludgard
Maybe the monitor is dead. Or possibly a mis-typed set of keys reconfigured a device setting. This has happened to me and a few others. First thing I feel is panic.I then start pushing various and many buttons until something happens; including the F-(Numbered) keys, FN key, and whatnot. (Not to worry: I have some backup images of the HDD in case of software failure).I try booting in safe mode.(May be a driver issue from an update). Then I test the machine on another tele or monitor. How is it going with you? Got everything sorted out?

According to them its either a Graphic Card issue or "Video Chip on motherboard" has malfunctioned..That is what the representative told me.. I hope they repair that ASAP.. Will let u knw once it comes back..
