Sony Vaio wont Start

Recommended Posts

Hey Guys

I am using Sony Vaio VPCEB1ZOE..and my laptop is just not starting... .. I think some Windows updates were configured yesterday.. It was working perfectly till yesterday

After pressing the Power Button, only the power light glows, rest laptop is just not responding.. I heard a zapped sound, when I saw its screen for the last time when it starts with the "VAIO" screen.. So all in all, whenever, I try to switch it ON, only its power light glows and when I try to turn it off by pressing the power button, nothing happens.. If I gotta switch it off, I have to take out the battery..

Please help guys.. What to do now?

Thanks

If you have a full Wimdows 7 DVD to boot from, you could try doing a Startup Repair ?

From my, admittedly limited, experience of VAIO machines, I understand that they are supplied with comprehensive recovery disks from which you should be able to restore your system.

Failing that, Sony Centres can do wonders.

Thnx for help..

No Recovery Disk were supplied with my system. I just went to the Sony Service Centre, even they are not sure "what part is mal-functioning".. I guess this laptop is Doomed..

Maybe the monitor is dead. Or possibly a mis-typed set of keys reconfigured a device setting. This has happened to me and a few others. First thing I feel is panic.

I then start pushing various and many buttons until something happens; including the F-(Numbered) keys, FN key, and whatnot. (Not to worry: I have some backup images of the HDD in case of software failure).

I try booting in safe mode.(May be a driver issue from an update).

Then I test the machine on another tele or monitor.

How is it going with you? Got everything sorted out?

Hey Thnx for reply..

Actually monitor is dead.. So I cant see anything..

I finally gave it to Sony Repair Shop.. According to them its either a Graphic Card issue or "Video Chip on motherboard" has malfunctioned..That is what the representative told me.. I hope they repair that ASAP.. Will let u knw once it comes back..
