Disabling DRIVER ENFORCEMENT Windows Vista

Recommended Posts

Hey Guys

My brother is having issues with his Vista Laptop. Apparently, he switched on his laptop(possibly after 3-4 months) then he came across this "Start up Repair" thing. After that his laptop kept processing for half an hour and everything was back to normal. Then some Windows Updates were downloaded and installed. Everything was ok till now.

But the problem started the following day, whenever he would power this thing, he would come across this Microsoft "Now Loading" thing(b4 the main Desktop shows up) and then Windows Repair would come. After clicking on this Windows Repair thing, nothing works and laptop asks for a restart.

I asked a friend of mine, he said keep on pressing F8 as soon as your laptop starts and then Disable the second last option(one above the Start Windows normally),that is, "Disable Driver Enforcement".. This thing really works and everything runs smoothly but the thing is it now takes more than 10min before the Desktop shows up and I really want to avoid this thing.

Is there any alternative to disable Driver Enforcement? Please help guys..

Thanks

I am not familiar with Windows Vista, but I believe install media should be present when running system repairs: Otherwise the machine will restart.
