Kabir99
Hello, I recently bought a new desktop and it has windows 7 64-bit installed in it. Since than i am having serious trouble while trying to install my USB modem to connect to the internet. There isnt any issue with the modem as it works totally fine with other computers and the USB ports are also working all fine. When i plug the modem in the computer detects it but then instantly it goes to being undetected. It is being displayed as an unspecified device. Please help me out.. Alan2273
Are you by any chance using a Tiscali USB modem?.
Boris
Alan - not likely to be a Tiscali modem as I believe the OP is from the Indian sub-continent.

Kabir99
Beceem Communications Pvt. Ltd is the manufacturer of this network adapter. The version is 5.2.137.0. I have talked to my network providers and they have mentioned that the firmware installed should work with in a 64 bit system. Also the device doesnt seem to have any problem as it worked fine when i tried it in a vista run computer.
ɹəuəllıʍ ʇɐb
Do you have a device driver for that modem? If not, check if drivermax.com can detect one.
Kabir99
It is actually a plug and play device. So the driver and the installer just runs when plug in the modem. I got the installer and the driver and installed it separately, it works fine. But as the modem isn't detected i cant connect to the internet. I just show that the device is unplugged. hostnametoip
USB interface over Ethernet is hardware cost. If the computer being connected to a broadband modem does not already possess an Ethernet network adapter, one must be purchased and installed. Normally, the other advantages of Ethernet listed above easily outweight this up-front effort.
cliffordstoll
there is some type of connectors problems may be..
bludgard
Sounds as if the router needs to send SSID. The machine cannot see the router; which is proper with a secure network (I've been playing with a few recently ). Maybe unlocking the router (with provided software) or pushing the send SSID button on the router would benefit. cliffordstoll said:"there is some type of connectors problems may be.." Definately. :D
