dbarnett
I have several USB dirves that were used under XP pro. The drives are now connected to a computer with Windows 7. The drives have files with very long random numbers/letters (11f8a624281b7877a131) with subfiles with 4 digit assending numbers. Are these old XP backups? and more importantly How is the best way to delete them. I have inclluded a screen shot.
Boris
They look like Windows installer files to me ? Are you saying that these are on an external hard drive ? I would be very careful with what you try to delete :)
-pops-
If you are certain these files are not needed it would be suitable to do a full reformat of the drive(s). This way you will delete any hidden junk files as well.
